That’s it Ms. Lynn! I was just thinking that… and will add the following: We should manage our expectations, operate with integrity and be forthright with a good dose of Grace and humility.
Not everyone is a match.
It’s best to be yourself and lay it out there, praying for wisdom in the process.
(At least I’ve found this to be true in other aspects of my business life. Now that there is a new product – my book – I still suspect this will be true.)

Books & Such blogs are always worth reading, but this week’s blogs have been some of the most enlightening yet. Thanks so much! You’ve answered frankly some important questions that are very hard for writers to ask.

A friend shared with me just today that disappointment is the difference between expectation and reality. You’ve dispelled much potential disappointment this week, I think.

Rich, that’s a good insight about buying into an illusion. I sometimes think writers believe once they have an agent all their problems are history. If only…Instead, the reality is an agent has lots of experience to help you to walk through the maze ahead.

The tip to think ahead regarding what you expect / want is a great one in many areas – agents, jobs, churches, relationships.

We like to jump into ______ and think it will be perfect forever and nothing but joy, but then eventually a hiccup hits.

Too often we set ourselves up to be disillusioned by wanting so badly to buy into an illusion in the first place.
